Gamuda Land Breaks Ground on St Kilda Tower

International development firm Gamuda Land has begun construction of its newest project in Melbourne.

The developer has broken ground on its Fareham project at 95 St Kilda Road with Markscon as builders. 

Fareham, with project value of $90 million, comprises 73 apartments across a 16-storey tower with a maximum of six apartments per floor.

Plans by architects BayleyWard include a communal garden on the first floor, a well-being room on the second floor and communal rooftop space on the 15th floor.

The project is aiming for a 7.5 Star NatHERS rating and will be powered by 100 per cent renewable energy including rooftop solar panels.

It will also have electric vehicle charging capabilities, bicycle storage and an onsite bicycle workshop.

The project is expected to create 130 jobs during the construction phase.

“Markscon has helped deliver some of Melbourne’s most boundary-pushing projects, including two Nightingale projects,” Gamuda Land general manager Jarrod Tai said.  

The project is scheduled for completion in 2026. 

Gamuda Land was established in 1996 as the property development arm of Gamuda Berhad, a Malaysia-based international engineering, construction and infrastructure group that has projects across Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Australia.

It currently has the built-to-sell project, The Canopy, under construction in Port Melbourne.
